The Phoenix area has popular and diverse suburbs, ranging from Peoria in the West Valley to Mesa in the East. But only one of them ranks among the country’s most popular suburbs to move to.

According to moving company moveBuddha, Tempe is Arizona’s most in-demand suburb and is No. 6 nationwide. To make that determination, the company dug into data from its Moving Cost Calculator to determine which suburbs Americans are actively planning to move to this year. Per moveBuddha, Tempe stood out for its walkable downtown, thriving arts scene and strong job market.

The only other Arizona suburb to make moveBuddha's top 50 most in-demand list was Tucson suburb Oro Valley, which ranked 50th.

Nearly 190,000 people call Tempe home, making it the ninth-largest city in Arizona by population. It boasts Arizona State University, the nightlife district of Mill Avenue and Tempe Beach Park. Mill Avenue also hosts an outdoor market and live music, known as Second Sundays, once a month.

The technology, education and health care industries have strong roots in Tempe and contribute to its strong economic growth, according to moveBuddha. And while the median home value in Tempe of $477,615 is higher than that of Phoenix and the national average, it’s par for the course for the country’s most popular suburbs. According to moveBuddha, the average home value across the top 25 suburbs is $472,482.

Here are the top 10 most desired suburbs to move to in 2025, according to moveBuddha.
