Below is the schedule for this weekend's anti-Arpaio/anti-287(g) activities just released by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network. Several high-ranking NDLON staff members have re-confirmed that Rage Against the Machine's Zack de la Rocha will attend Saturday's march, so be there and be there early.

Word is Phoenix's anti-Hispanic nativist hillbillies will also show up as a counter-protest. They are truly a nasty bunch of semi-literate ofay Skoal-munchers. But keep this in mind: From a helicopter, they will just make the crowd look that much larger. So the joke's on their unemployed asses.

The anti-Arpaio forces should just add these racist rednecks into the headcount. That's assuming hirsute hick honcho Buffalo Rick can rouse his fellow cave-dwellers from their Boones Farm-induced Saturday mornin' hangovers. Security and the po-po should keep an eye on these meat-heads, though. They're always armed, and like big, ugly children, they aim to provoke altercations they can then blame on their enemies.

Sheriff Arpaio's Latest Acts of Humiliation Spark National Outcry:Local and National Organization Join Together to Turn the Tide Against Hate.

For the past two years Sheriff Arpaio has [used his federal power] under the 287g program to perform sweeps, masked check-points, and armed workplace raids in Maricopa County communities that have been condemned by Amnesty International, the Mexican Senate, and others as human rights abuses. Most recently, he escalated his on-going attacks by segregating the county jail and marching the undocumented inmates shackled in a chain gang into a "tent city" he erected in the desert and surrounded with an electric fence. He's promised to aid the state's budget problems by denying these prisoners access to health care.

Puente Arizona, Somos America, Arizona ACORN, and others have called for Secretary Napolitano to revoke Sheriff Arpaio's 287g agreement and ensure and end to the raids. The National Day Laborer Organizing Network, National Immigration Forum, Center for Community Change, United Students Against Sweatshops, and others shall convene with local groups on Friday the 27th to create a national plan of action calling for federal intervention in the human rights crisis in Arizona.
