The Tempe Police Department, in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, will conduct “special enforcement” of busy Tempe intersections for the next two weeks, the department announced today.
Lucky for you, the department was kind enough to give us a list of places they will be patrolling extra hard, which we will share with you after the jump.
*The intersection of Rural Road and University Drive.
*The intersection of Broadway Road and McClintock Drive.
*The intersection of Rural Road and Southern Avenue.
Officers decided to focus on these three intersections in particular because in 2009 they were responsible for more collisions than any other intersections in Tempe.
At Rural and Broadway there were 69 collisions, at Broadway and McClintock there were 64 collisions, and at Rural and Southern there were 62.
Commercial vehicle enforcement patrols, as well as units looking for impaired drivers will also be beefed up during this period, so act accordingly.
