You may know OpenTable as the website where you make restaurant reservations. But along with all those seating arrangements, it also gathers reviews and insights from customers on their favorite places to eat.

Each year, the San Francisco-based company publishes a list of the Top 100 Restaurants nationwide. This year, two Arizona restaurants made the cut.

Both located in Scottsdale and both with a 4.9-star rating on OpenTable, Cafe Monarch and Dominick's Steakhouse are 2024 awardees.

Cafe Monarch is no stranger to national rankings, as it often makes lists fit for Valentine's Day. By Yelp and others, it has been named one of the nation's most romantic restaurants. The Old Town eatery's dining options range from four to eight-course meals with price tags from $145 to $290 per person, before wine pairings or other additions.

Dominick's Steakhouse is a fine dining restaurant that specializes in Prime cuts and Japanese Wagyu. It also offers a raw bar, caviar selection and seafood such as lobster tails and Alaskan king crab legs.

The Scottsdale Quarter dining destination is part of a national chain from restaurateurs Jeffery and Michael Mastro that includes Steak 44 in Phoenix and Ocean 44 in Scottsdale.

So, OpenTable is impressed by white tablecloths and dress codes. If we were choosing, we might pick more locally focused or wallet-friendly restaurants to represent the culinary delights of our desert home. Phoenix is so much more than its outdated steakhouse reputation. But a national spotlight cast on any area of town helps bring attention to our dynamic dining scene.
