There may be no other ice cream treat that has the cult-like following of Dole Whip. The fruity, frozen dessert was popularized at Disney theme parks and while never exclusive to the parks, it's hard to find elsewhere.

But this Major League Baseball season, which officially starts on March 27, attendees of Arizona Diamondbacks games will be able to snag a swirl of the tasty treat at Chase Field.

Dole Whip will be exclusively available in the Big Dawgs concession stand in Section 105.

Dole Whip and Disney have a long connection, starting in 1976 when Dole Packaged Foods sponsored Disneyland's Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. There, pineapple spears and juice were sold. Later, Dole served vanila ice cream with pinepples on top at its California park.

When the demand grew at Disney World in Orlando, a version that could better withstand the heat was needed for Florida's scorching temperatures. So, the dairy-free Dole Whip was born. The lack of cream has also become part of its attraction, allowing more customers to enjoy the treat.

With Phoenix temperatures topping those in Orlando, the refreshing dessert is sure to be a home run at Chase Field.

It joins other new food options at the downtown Phoenix baseball stadium this year, including two new concession stands from local Mexican restaurant Someburros.
