Well, it's time to start prepping for steins and brats at Four Peaks Brewing Co.'s annual Oktoberfest celebration.
The brewery announced that its 2025 event will take over Tempe Beach Park on October 10 through 12. Back for its 52nd year, the three-day Bavarian-themed festival will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday. The first 300 ticket holders through the main gate will receive a free 1-liter stein. The fun continues from noon to midnight on Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Stacy Matson of Scottsdale does the heavy lifting to take first in the women's stein-holding event, sponsored by Four Peaks Brewing.

Other fan-favorite events include the Runnin' for the Brats 1-mile, 5K or 10K races, bratwurst-eating contest and a men's and women's stein-holding competition. Don't want to run yourself? Enter your dog into the running for the wiener dog and low-center-of-gravity dog races.
German food will be available at tents throughout the festival, and there will be food trucks and vendors on site as well. Specific beer tents will offer a mix of Four Peaks brews and traditional German beers, along with canned cocktails, hard seltzers and non-alcoholic options.
Tempe's German festival is the longest-running Oktoberfest in the Valley. It started as the Way Out West Oktoberfest and was hosted at the old Veterans of Foreign Wars building on Apache Boulevard. The event was created by the co-founders of Tempe Sister Cities and drew 200 people in its first year. Now, the event requires 1,500 to 2,000 volunteers alone and it still raises money for the internationally connected nonprofit.
Super Early Bird tickets are available online now for $18 plus tax. Ages 20 and under get in free all weekend, and everyone can get in for free on Sunday.
