La Zozzona and Tiki Taka7500 E. Doubletree Ranch Road, Scottsdale
Why you know him: Blais was introduced to the nation on the Bravo culinary cookoff, “Top Chef,” and quickly became known for his floppy hair and penchant for using liquid nitrogen in the kitchen. Blais was runner-up in the fourth season and won “Top Chef: All Stars” in 2011. Today, he is a mentor on Fox’s “Next Level Chef.” Blais is also the author of several cookbooks and has opened restaurants around the country, largely in Southern California and Florida.
The restaurants: Blais arrived in Arizona through a partnership with the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort to revamp the hotel's six restaurants and bars. Those include the poolside escapes H2Oasis and Sandbar, Grand Vista Lounge and Mesa Centrale, an all-day Southwestern grill that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fusion tapas bar Tiki Taka and Italian steakhouse La Zozzona are the signature outposts at the resort. Tiki Taka offers a mash-up of Asian and Spanish cuisine, along with frozen sangria made tableside with liquid nitrogen. La Zozzona serves Instagrammable mozzarella sticks, housemade pasta and a massive porterhouse steak for two.
