SakeBomber Sushi & Grill, a Japanese restaurant that has been serving customers since 2007, is set to close this weekend.

The Tempe restaurant, located on Broadway Road just west of McClintock Drive, announced on social media that its last service will be held on Saturday night.

"This local sushi restaurant has been so much more than a business to us. It has been a place where friendships were made, laughter was shared, and countless memories were created. You have been our extended family and friends — celebrating life's big and small moments with us and supporting us through every season," the owners wrote on social media. "We wish all our dear regulars happiness, health, and wonderful adventures ahead."

The restaurant serves a large menu of sushi rolls, grilled skewers, noodles and teriyaki dishes. Drink options include hot and cold sake, sake flights, beer, wine and cocktails, plus coffee, boba tea and unique boba cocktails. Customers enjoyed their sushi at a booth, table or along the bar in the red-painted dining room with black accents, decorated with lanterns, neon and string lights.

Fans reacted to the closing announcement, sharing memories of visits over the years.

One fan wrote, in part, "I just saw this. How sad. You taught me how to love sushi and you are the standard I hold all others to."

Another shared, "Oh, this makes me so sad! My family and I have so many fond memories over the past 15 years here."

And one summed it up in a single word: "Devastating."

With many longtime customers coming in for one last visit, the restaurant's owners suggest making reservations for the final days. They signed off with gratitude for almost two decades of support.

"Thank you for 18 years of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments," the post reads.
