Before or after wandering the pathways through wildflowers and towering cacti, many visitors to the Desert Botanical Garden stop in at Gertrude's Restaurant for a bite to eat or grab a table at the Patio Cafe to enjoy the views.

But the dining options at one of Phoenix's most popular tourist destinations are changing. The Garden shared the news with an announcement on social media.

"After 13 wonderful years, we're bidding a heartfelt farewell to our partnership with Hause Restaurant Group, which operates Gerturde's Restaurant and Patio Cafe," the post reads. "Thank you for the memories, meals and magic."

Hause Restaurant Group operated both spots, and is owned by Chantal and Alan "Skip" Hause. The couple have decided to focus on their catering company, Fabulous Food Fine Catering & Events, according to a news release from the Garden. That catering company will continue to be a partner for events at the Garden.

“Gertrude’s and Patio Cafe have been a place of connection — to food, to nature and to each other,” says Ken Schutz, the Garden’s executive director. “We’re deeply grateful for Skip, Chantal and the entire staff of Gertrude’s and Patio Café. This partnership has flourished because of them, and we wish them the best in their next culinary chapter.”

Gertrude's Restaurant makes use of local, seasonal ingredients to inspire its menu and offers lunch and dinner throughout the week, with an additional brunch service on the weekends. The restaurant's final day of service will be May 31.

Reservations through the end of the month will be honored and anyone signed up for summer cooking classes will be refunded, the Garden shared.

The Patio Cafe closed on May 11.

Once the current eateries move out, new food options will open at the Garden, according to its website.

"Stay tuned for what's cooking next," the site says. "To be announced this summer."
