Phoenix spot ranks among best Chinese restaurants in America

In Yelp's list of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the country, three Arizona spots made the cut, including one in Phoenix.

On Wednesday, review site Yelp published a list of the 100 best Chinese restaurants in America. Three Arizona spots made the cut, including a hidden gem in Phoenix.

Chinese takeout has become a tradition around the holidays, and according to Yelp, searches on its site for the best Chinese restaurants spike this time of year. In 2023, the day with the most searches for Chinese food all year landed on Christmas.

So, to help people pick the best options for their holiday feast, Yelp ranked the top 100 in order. The number one spot went to Maxi's Noodle in New York, but we do have some terrific local options to choose from.

To compile the list of 100, Yelp says they "identified businesses in the Chinese category that are not part of a national chain, then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews."

West Valley eatery Wong's Chinese Cuisine came in at number 87.

The restaurant, located in a shopping center off Indian School Road near 107th Avenue, also made our local list of the top 10 best Chinese restaurants in the Valley. We particularly love the Moo Shu Pork, which features a flavor-packed blend of tender meat, scrambled egg, carrots and cabbage perfect for tucking into the accompanying pancakes.

Yelp's list also included two other Arizona restaurants, one in Tucson and the other in Prescott Valley. Tucson's Asian Spice came in at number 53. Sauced Potstickers in Prescott Valley was named number 63.
