Popular Phoenix-based wine bar Postino has opened locations around the country, including in Colorado, North Carolina and Texas. But finally, the West Valley has a location of its own.

Postino opened at The Park at 83 in Peoria on Saturday.

Postino serves a selection of fresh foods designed to pair with wine, and is famous for its bruschetta boards. Customers can mix and match up to four different flavors, with options such as French onion, salami and pesto, pepper jam with goat cheese and brie, apple and fig.

The restaurant also serves soups, salads and panini sandwiches along with a full brunch menu. Last spring, the wine bar added cocktails to its lineup for the first time, and recently introduced a line of non-alcoholic cocktails as well. On the drinks menu, however, wine is the focus. Pair a glass or two with your meal at the restaurant, or take home bottles to-go.

The Peoria location is the chain's first in the West Valley, joining seven others throughout the metro Phoenix area. It finds a home adjacent to the Peoria Sports Complex, the spring training facility for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres baseball teams.

"We couldn’t be more excited to bring Postino to the incredible Peoria community and to join the vibrant energy of The Park at 83," Lauren Bailey, CEO and co-founder of Upward Projects, the restaurant group behind Postino, said in a news release.

"This is a milestone moment for us — our first West Valley location — and it feels like a homecoming of sorts, as the Valley has always been the heart and soul of our story," she said. "We can’t wait to open our doors, share our love for great wine and food, and create a space where neighbors and friends come together to connect and unwind."

The Peoria Postino welcomed its first customers on Jan. 4. Additionally, throughout January, the new location will donate $1 from each bruschetta board to the Peoria Diamond Club, an organization that works to enrich children’s lives through community programs.
