Many restaurants around the Valley are offering discounts and deals, but others have shut down for the day.

While many restaurants and bars around the Valley are offering dining deals and discounts to help their customers get through Election Day, others have decided to close.

For some, this is to allow staff members time to visit the polls and cast their vote. Award-winning Scottsdale restaurant FnB shared an explanation with its closing announcement.

"We offer paid time off to our team because voting and policy outcomes impact our industry, community and preferences for living," the announcement reads. "We look forward to serving you tomorrow!"

Other spots around town have closed today "for training," according to social media announcements, including Ghost Donkey, Cham Pang Lanes and Palma. The three downtown Phoenix spots share a block and are owned by the same company.

So if you're hoping to keep your mind off the election returns this evening by heading out to dinner, make sure to check if your destination is open today. Here are some Valley restaurants and bars that are closed.
