Popular chains serving brunch, burgers and wine are coming to Queen Creek for the first time.

Last week, the developers broke ground on a $120 million project called The Switchyard, located on 10 acres at the northeast corner of Ellsworth Loop and Ocotillo roads. Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, Shake Shake and Postino are the first restaurants confirmed to join the walkable development, which will also include shops, offices and 215 luxury apartments.

"With construction now underway, we’re eager to see this place come to life, seamlessly blending retail, dining, office spaces, apartments and a vibrant outdoor environment. This will be a distinctive, community-centric destination unlike anything else in Queen Creek,” David Sellers, co-founder of developer Creation, said in a press release.

Snooze and Shake Shack were announced during a groundbreaking event on May 7; Postino was announced in June 2024. Here's what to know about the popular restaurants making their Queen Creek debut.

Postino, the popular wine cafe that first opened in Phoenix's Arcadia neighborhood, was the first restaurant announced at The Switchyard.

Snooze is a Denver-based eatery known for its pancake flights, creative benedicts and brunch cocktails. Currently, the chain has seven locations around the Valley.

Shake Shack is a burger and crinkle-cut fry spot whose owner famously put a webcam outside its original New York location so that people could see the line and make plans accordingly. Nearly two decades later, it’s much easier to get a ShackBurger, including at one of its eight locations around the Valley.

Postino is the locally grown wine bar and restaurant that made boards of bruschetta and bottles a mandatory special at Valley bistros. Postino has eight locations around the metro area.

"Queen Creek is excited for The Switchyard project to break ground,” Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley said in the release. “It is one of several projects underway in our Town Center area that will help us bring the vision of our downtown core to life.”

With 54,000 square feet planned for offices, shops and restaurants, more tenant announcements are coming.

In addition to real estate, Creation also develops restaurants and bars. The group is behind indoor-outdoor restaurant The Porch and the upscale Italian steakhouse The Americano. It also teamed up with Clive Collective on the luxe speakeasy Tell Your Friends.

The first phase of The Switchyard is anticipated to open in mid-2026.
