Michael King, who was wanted in the rape of a Pleasure Palace porn shop employee -- that is, until he was caught robbing a bank, and tossed the stolen cash all over a Phoenix backyard -- took a plea agreement today that's sending him to prison.

King, 23, pleaded guilty today to three counts of sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault, and won a 35-year trip to prison, as well as a lifetime of sex-offender probation when he gets out.

According to court documents previously obtained by New Times, King became known to police after raping an employee of the Pleasure Palace porn shop in Phoenix on October 17.

According to those documents, King entered the store, pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, and forced the female employee to the back of the store, where he raped her.

A customer came into the store while King was raping her, and King told the employee that she'd have to make sure that customer left the store, or he'd kill them both, according to the documents.

King then raped the woman again, before taking her to the store's bathroom and making her wash her hands, the documents state.

He then left the store with some cash and store merchandise.

King was identified as a person of interest in the case by Phoenix police after the victim identified him in a photo lineup, and cops were looking for him for about a week, until he attracted a bit of attention to himself by robbing a Phoenix bank.

King strolled into a Chase Bank at 16th Street and Camelback on October 26, handing an employee a note demanding $10,000, and alerting the clerk that he would shoot employees if she didn't fork over the cash.

The employee handed over a bunch of cash, and threw in a tracking device for free.

Police tracked him down to a neighborhood, where a police helicopter spotted King hopping a fence into a backyard.

When officers on the ground spotted King, he made it rain -- tossing the cash up in the air as it landed all over the person's yard.

King was arrested, and police said he actually had the bank's tracking device in his pocket.

Court documents said King admitted to both robbing the bank and raping the woman at the Pleasure Palace.

James King contributed to this post, and is not related to the rapist.
