Arizonans might be some of the most stressed-out people in the United States.

That is, if working long hours or being unemployed, commuting a long way, not having health insurance, spending too much on housing, and living in a densely populated area are things that cause stress.

Those are the factors the real estate blog Movoto used to estimate which states might have the most stressed-out residents.

Based on the states that were measured as the most stressed-out, it looks like they picked some pretty good factors. Here are the most stressed-out states, by this measure:

  • 10.) Arizona
  • 9.) North Carolina
  • 8.) Maryland
  • 7.) New York
  • 6.) Illinois
  • 5.) Nevada
  • 4.) California
  • 3.) New Jersey
  • 2.) Georgia
  • 1.) Florida

(If you've ever lived in Florida for a purpose other than retirement, you'll understand.)

Arizona's in the top 20 nationally for unemployment, percentage of income used for housing, percent of people without health insurance, and percent of people with a commute longer than 20 minutes.

The data used was from the Census Bureau.
