If you weren't sure whether or not putting everything in a mason jar was still hip, we're pretty sure 7-Eleven just made it quite clear. The mini-mart chain announced earlier this month that they plan to release limited-edition Slurpee receptacles that look like mason jars. The fun doesn't stop there, though, folks. The brightly-colored attached straw also comes adorned with a novelty mustache. Why pander to hipsters though, 7-Eleven?

If we were to guess why 7-Eleven is trying to target trendy folk, we'd have to guess it has something to do with a willingness to spend money on useless junk for no reason just because it's kitschy. However, we're not totally sure the plan will work for the company, seeing as they don't have any viable plan to market the product as "underground" or "locally/artisanally-crafted."
The company said in a release that participating stores will be selling the $3 Slurpee mugs and 99-cent straws this summer, encouraging those who buy the goofy-looking gimmick to tag either @slurpee or @7eleven in the inevitably ensuing Instagram shots. You know, cause hipsters.
Citing the rise of celebrities like Nick Offerman (who sports a pretty stellar 'stache, truth be told) and a slightly more confusing reference to Hulk Hogan (who we forgot existed until we read that part of the statement), 7-Eleven clearly has their finger on the pulse of what's in with the kids nowadays.
