Congratulations to all the bakers — including those who participated in the community baking portion of the event. We heard raves about your pie all day long.

Thanks to our hard-working judges: Carla Wade, owner of Carly’s; Brendan McCaskey, manager of Smeeks candy store; Ashley Messick, winner of our limerick contest; Vermon Pierre, lead pastor of Roosevelt Community Church; and Chow Bella’s own Dominique Chatterjee, who writes our weekly “Dessert First” column.

Another big thanks to our friends at Roosevelt Row — particularly Cindy Dach and her volunteers, including the kids from the Bioscience High School, whose clubs will benefit from the event’s proceeds.
