Foo Fighters announced their 2015 tour a few days ago. The radio rock stalwarts will swing through Ak-Chin Pavilion on September 25, 2015.
The tour is in support of their new album Sonic Highways. The Foo Fighters tracked each song on the album in a different, historically significant recording studio and made a series of documentaries, shown on HBO.
And in a somewhat surprising move, the Foos are hosting something called a “Beat the Bots” sale on Saturday, November 22, in which fans afraid that scalpers might use bots to buy tickets in order to re-sell them can buy them old-school — by waiting in line at the box office.
It’s certainly a jab at sites like Stubhub, where tickets for hot-item sporting events and concerts routinely sell for much more than face value. After all, you can’t scalp what you can’t buy first.
Tickets go on sale in Phoenix at the Comerica Theatre box office at 9 a.m. on Saturday and will continue through 3 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on December 5.
