Gem features one standout piece from a local shop. Whether it’s a jacket, necklace, or handbag, it’s on our have-to-have list.
What: We’ve been on a thrifty kick of late, exploring secondhand shops around the Valley. Last week we hit up Deseret Industries and found a vintage peacoat with Midcentury, architectural detailing. This week we swung by Goodwill in Tempe and found a small, black pleather crossbody bag from L’egent. We’re guessing it’s a mid-to-late ’80s or early ’90s find (we’ve seen ’em pop up on Etsy occasionally), and we know it’ll be perfect as a light, casual accessory.

Begin with a black jersey playsuit from Vanessa Bruno Athé and add perforated leather ballet flats from Jimmy Choo, a silver-plated Pamela Love dagger necklace, Bottega Veneta ruthenium-plated earrings, and, for a pop of color, glittery pink Miu Miu sunglasses.
