It’s a truth universally acknowledged that New Year’s Eve is one of the most heavily policed nights of the year.

To avoid a DUI and keep you and others safe this holiday, you may want to consider leaving the car at home when you head out to celebrate.

And to make that easier, Molson Coors is once again offering its Coors Light Free Rides program, making all Valley Metro public transportation free starting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31, including the light rail, buses and ADA Dial-a-Ride service.

“To ensure that those celebrating in the metro Phoenix area have a reliable ride, we are excited to activate the Free Rides program once again across the U.S. this New Year’s Eve,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager for Molson Coors, said in the announcement. “In collaboration with Valley Metro, we are looking forward to fostering community and fellowship as we ring in the New Year.”

This is the 10th year that Phoenix has participated in the Coors Light Free Rides program. Molson Coors runs the program in a number of other U.S. cities as well. Last year, the New Year’s Eve Free Rides program saw its highest ridership yet, with 200,000 people around the country taking advantage of complimentary transit when celebrating the new year.
