Phoenix fans of actor Sean Astin, this is your lucky year.

Not only is the longtime performer heading to Phoenix Fan Fusion in early June, along with several other stars of “The Lord of the Rings” film series, but he’ll return to town in September for a different special event.

Astin will host a special screening of “The Goonies” in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary on Sept. 13 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Astin will engage in an interactive Q&A with the audience and tell stories of his experience filming “The Goonies,” his time spent with with the other actors and what happened on the set of the classic flick.

Editor's Picks

For the uninitiated, “The Goonies” is a family adventure classic about a pack of friends who go searching for a treasure on a lost pirate ship in order to save their homes from foreclosure. Unfortunately, a family of criminals is searching for the haul as well. The movie also stars Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton, Corey Feldman and Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan.

Tickets for the event go on sale on May 16. Visit the Hollywood on Broadway website to get more details.
