Do you like scary movies? Do you also like to revel in the uncertainty of existence?

Local movie chain Harkins Theatres' Secret Cinema Experience is a monthly series that gives film fans a chance to see a forthcoming film for only $5 (that comes to a cool $6.85 with processing fees if you buy your ticket online). The catch is that you don't know what you're seeing until you get there.

The Monday, May 19, installment of the series is not for the faint of heart; Harkins will be showing an undisclosed, rated-R, soon-to-be-released horror flick.

The following Harkins Theatres locations are participating:
  • Arizona Mills 18, 5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, Tempe
  • Arrowhead Fountains 18, 16046 N Arrowhead Fountains Center Drive, Peoria
  • Camelview at Fashion Square 14, 7014 E. Camelback Road, Scottsdale
  • Chandler Fashion 20, 3159 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler
  • Estrella Falls 16, 15010 W. McDowell Road, Goodyear
  • Lake Pleasant CINÉGRILL, 25406 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway, #72, Peoria
  • Park West 14, 9804 W. Northern Ave., Peoria
  • Queen Creek 14, 20481 S. Rittenhouse Road, Queen Creek
  • SanTan Village 16, 2298 E. Williams Field Road, Gilbert
  • Tempe Marketplace 16, 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe
Harkins Theatres debuted the Secret Cinema series in November 2023. The next installment, which will not be a horror film, will take place on Monday, June 2.
