Get your funny bones warmed up: Shane Gillis is coming to Phoenix.

The popular comedian is in the middle of a world tour, and Monday morning, he announced a new date at PHX Arena in downtown Phoenix on Friday, Dec. 5.

Gillis's brand of everyman bro comedy has caused his star to rise sharply in the past couple of years. His Netflix comedy special "Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs" dropped in 2023, the year before the debut of "Tires" on Netflix, a workplace comedy show that credits the comedian as executive producer, co-creator and writer. "Tires" was renewed for a third season earlier this year.

In 2024, the podcast Gillis co-hosts with comedian Matt McCusker, "Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast," became the number-one Patreon podcast in the world, and Gillis gained yet wider fame during this year's Super Bowl as part of a commercial for Bud Light he appeared in with Post Malone.

But Gillis's career is not without controversy. In 2019, he was hired as a featured cast member on "Saturday Night Live," only to be fired five days later when clips from "Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast" showed him using slurs referring to Asian and homosexual people.

Tickets for the Dec. 5 show go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, on the Ticketmaster website. For those inclined to travel, Gillis will appear at Tucson Arena the night before.
