Arizona Science Center's Science With a Twist event, an ongoing series that keeps the facility open late on a Friday night for kid-free educational fun, took a turn for the spicy on June 20.

The sold-out "Naughty & Nerdy: A Night of Sexy Science" event packed the center with a diverse group of folks looking for something different and interesting to do. The program included a demonstration on how sex toys are made, a period cramp simulator, tantric readings, reproductive system trivia and more. Attendees could also write haikus about the first time they had sex and post them on a display wall and compete in a condom-inflating contest.

In addition to the themed activities, guests enjoyed exploring the science center's exhibits, including the special-engagement "The Power of Poison."

The next Science With a Twist event will be held on Friday, Aug. 22. The theme is "Legends of Lore: Dragons, Science & Magic." Attendees can learn about the science of dragons, encounter real-life legendary creatures with the Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary, enjoy wine tasting with Dragon Fire Wine and get a final chance to see "The Power of Poison before the exhibition closes on August 24. Ticketholders are encouraged to dress in their medieval best for a chance to win the Legends of Lore costume contest. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door and $55 for VIP, which includes a 45-minute Dungeons & Dragons one-shot experience, a drink ticket and a wooden dice tower printed by CREATE at Arizona Science Center.
