Buc-ee’s first Arizona store sets opening date

It’s nearly go-time. Fan favorite Texas gas station chain Buc-ee’s finally shared an opening date for its first location in Arizona. 

Buc-ee’s is scheduled to open on Bullard Avenue just south of Interstate 10 on June 22, a spokesperson for the company confirmed.

It will be the first time Buc-ee’s and its smiling beaver sign lands west of Texas.

Currently under construction on a 22-acre site, the new gas station and store will include 120 fuel pumps and a convenience store, restaurant and rest-stop combo totaling over 74,000 square feet. 

The new location is expected to bring over 200 jobs to Goodyear. Before the Texas-based company can welcome the public to the new gas station and mega mart, it needs staff. Buc-ee’s fans and wanna-be workers can apply online now.

Buc-ee’s is hiring staff for the positions of grocery associate, gift associate, deli and food service associate, janitorial attendant, cashier, HR field representative, bookkeeper, night manager, grocery manager, janitorial manager, assistant gift manager, merchandise manager, assistant deli manager, deli manager and assistant general manager.

The pay range starts at $18 per hour and tops out at $125,000 per year. All of the positions include health insurance, three weeks of paid time off and a 401(k) match.

Other perks of the job surely are brisket sandwiches available at all times, an unlimited supply of sweet and salty Beaver Nuggets and bathroom breaks in the famously clean bathrooms.

Buc-ee’s impending arrival was first announced in March 2024, when the company closed on its purchase of the land.

“This is (a) huge milestone for the project and I couldn’t be more excited that Buc-ee’s has chosen Goodyear,” Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo said at the time.

In May 2025, Buc-ee’s started construction on its first Disneyland of convenience stores in Arizona. At the groundbreaking ceremony, tunes singing “Beaver Nuggets crunching in my hand, fresh brisket like a promised land,” rang out as city officials and company ownership dug shovels into the dirt.

Construction crews have been hard at work for months building the new Buc-ee’s compound. Now, fans can look forward to the opening on June 22. Beaver Nuggets, here we come.
