Bud Bowl featuring Kid Rock Feb. 2, 2008 Axis/Radius

A bustling body of movement, the crowd at Bud Bowl Saturday night was by far the wildest yet this Super Bowl week. Donned in black leather, cowboy hats, corsets and terrible '80s sequins, members of this mob were not afraid to cuss and push you out of the way. By 10 p.m., when DJ Rooney G was spinning some Britney Spears tunes, most everyone was wasted. Empty Bud Light bottles littered the ground. It was next to impossible to move through the crowd, and those who did were met with a blunt, "Bitch, get out of the way!"
Kid Rock pounded onto the stage just after 11 p.m., and the fans could not contain their excitement. All arms shot up into the air showing the rocker sign. Kid Rock, in a white suit and black hat, did not let the crowd down. He was loud and boisterous, just like a rocker should be. He jumped around the stage and thrust his hips, then threw his hands up in the air like the king of rock he claims to be as he sang "I'm going platinum!" during his song, Devil Without a Cause.
Media was allowed between the stage and the security, so I was able to see the sweat on Kid Rock's face and could have touched his legs if I'd dared.
For those unfortunate people squished in the back of the crowd, the Bud Bowl canopy projected Kid Rock's performance on the ceiling. It was almost as fun back there because of the room to dance.
A few members of the overly rowdy crowd got out of control and were thrown out by security guards right in the middle of Kid Rock's set. I guess they just wanted to feel like bad asses themselves.
"That's Kid Rock's lawyer over there, and he said Kid Rock is going to Martini Ranch tonight."
"I'm like Josie Grosie at her Power Hour!"
