Dave's Hot Chicken started in Los Angeles as a pop-up with a few folding tables set up in a parking lot in 2017. Shortly thereafter, a review from Eater's LA page changed everything.
Now, the chain has brick-and-mortar restaurants all over the country, including Valley locations in Gilbert, Laveen and north Phoenix. As of Friday, West Valley customers can now get a taste without the drive. The new restaurant opened on the northeast corner of McDowell Road and 150th Drive in Goodyear.
It joins a host of new food and drinks options coming to that corner, including Goodyear's first-ever Trader Joe's. The new spots are part of the 150-acre mixed use development GSQ, designed to become Goodyear's downtown hub.
Dave's Hot Chicken joins other open restaurants including BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, Coper & Sage, Over Easy, Shake Shack and more. The area is also set to welcome Arizona's first Buc-ee's gas station and convenience store.
Dave's Hot Chicken brings the heat to the West Valley with its spice-filled menu. The fried chicken tenders come with sliced bread, pickles and a side of Dave's sauce and can be ordered individually, in sliders or combos with fries. The spice level starts low, at "no spice," going up seven notches until it surpasses "extra hot" and hits "reaper."
Fans can test their spice tollerance daily from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. at the restaurant and drive-thru.
