As a full moon shone overhead, the galleries and art spaces of Roosevelt Row and elsewhere in downtown Phoenix were open to public perusal during the latest edition of First Friday on Friday, April 3.

As is the norm with the monthly art walk, attention-grabbing exhibitions and shows were on display, including Samantha Lyn Aasen’s Sparkle Baby at Step Gallery, The Jail Project at eye lounge, and a collection of works by local graf and street artists at monOrchid. Renowned artist and illustrator Derek Hess, who’s famous for the many unique concert posters he’s created over the last couple of decades, was also on hand for the opening of his show, Everything’s Not Okay at Modified Arts.
