SMoCA Mix 2017 Brings Drone Performance, Cyber-Chic Fashion, and Squidsoup Art to Scottsdale

A lone drone flew over guests gazing upward on Saturday night, May 6, at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. They'd gathered for the latest iteration of the museum's annual SMoCA Mix fundraiser. This year's theme was tech sublime, so gallery spaces were filled with visual and performance art with a technology twist. And guests soon learned that their own movements could bring several sights and sounds alive. Here's a look at how all that went down. All photos by Lynn Trimble.
