-year-old Matthew Keller became -- by all accounts -- the first person to be arrested in Arizona for possession of "Spice," a synthetic form of marijuana outlawed in the Grand Canyon State in February. He was charged with a felony.

After getting pulled over by a Yavapai County sheriff's deputy last week, Keller admitted there was "Spice" in his car. He told the deputy he didn't know it was illegal and that he'd recently made the switch from real weed to "Spice" because he was under the impression it was legal.

"Spice," legally speaking, is now considered the same as marijuana, which makes sense considering it causes many of the same impairments.

But a felony? Seems a bit harsh.
