RuPaul’s memoir “The House of Hidden Meanings” came out almost a year ago, but the drag icon hasn’t stopped taking the book on a tour around the U.S. and beyond.
Phoenix is getting its own stop on the tour. RuPaul will appear at The Van Buren at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 16.
Presales have begun. The general onsale begins on Thursday, Feb. 6. VIP packages will be available, which include one premium reserved seat, a meet-and-greet and photo with RuPaul, and a signed paperback copy of “The House of Hidden Meanings.”
“The House of Hidden Meanings” was released on March 4, 2024, by Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins. The publisher calls it “a deeply intimate memoir of discovery, found family and self-acceptance. … In ‘The House of Hidden Meanings,’ RuPaul strips away all artifice and recounts the story of his life with breathtaking clarity and tenderness, bringing his signature wisdom and wit to his own biography.”

In a 2023 Instagram post announcing the book, RuPaul wrote, “Writing this book left me gooped, gagged and stripped raw. I’ve learned that vulnerability is strength, but so far, all I feel is nervous as hell, yet super excited to share it with y’all. When all is said and done, it’s just me, Ru.”
The memoir is RuPaul’s fourth book. He’s also the author of “Lettin It All Hang Out” (1995), “Workin’ It! RuPaul’s Guide to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Style” (2010) and “GuRu” (2018).
