Phoenix Art Museum will host its final Family Funday event of the summer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 29. For exactly zero dollars, you can spend the day at the museum enjoying a range of activities for all ages:
- Art + Fashion + Science with the Arizona Science Center
- The patterns of the iconic designer Anna Sui and the connection to microscopic worlds of nature
- DIY Fashion Accessories with ThereSpace
- Designing your own outfit with Angela Johnson
- Reliving the fun of the ‘80s and ‘90s by decorating slap bracelets and creating custom buttons
- Designing your own perfume bottle with Aspen Reynolds
- Early Learners Storytime with Childsplay
- A fashion-inspired scavenger hunt
- Zine making with Wasted Ink Zine Distro
- Specialty food and beverages with ARTenders, Mustache Pretzels and Crete Tea Room
- Docent-led public tours
Other highlights of the museum include "You Who Are Getting Obliterated in the Dancing Swarm of Fireflies," the Yayoi Kusama infinity room; and the Thorne Miniature Rooms, elaborate dioramas depicting rooms from different countries and eras.
PhxArt Family Fundays are sponsored by the Presenting Sponsor Men’s Arts Council and Applied Materials Foundation.
Though this is the last free Family Funday of the summer, the museum is now offering a PhxArt + Sol Pass for the summer. For $75, two adults and unlimited children under 17 years old get unlimited admission to the museum through Aug. 31, plus a kid-friendly swag and activity bag. After Aug. 31, passholders can apply the cost of their access pass to an annual Membership.
