If you were a fan of Chuy's Mesquite Broiler, the Mexican restaurant chain that came under fire in April when two of its owners were arrested for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants following a raid on 20 of their restaurants in Arizona and California, Baja Loco is pretty much the same restaurant — without the tax fraud stuff. With two locations in Phoenix and Glendale, this casual, beach-inspired eatery boasts a boatload of campy seaside decor along with a menu of traditional, fire-grilled Mexican favorites. Stick with the basic dishes like tacos and burritos, but don't expect too much in the way of surprises.
