Saffron Indian Bistro

Saffron Indian Bistro is situated in a sleepy Glendale strip mall that looks like it’s seen better days, but you’ll probably forget about the less than glamourous environs the moment you step inside the restaurant’s modern, crisp-looking dining room. Of course, the main attraction here is the food, and that also happens to be quite good. The house ginger lemonade is a nice way to start your meal. Appetizers include very crispy, ultra-savory samosas, along with hard-to- find Indian street snack staples like pani puri, crispy potato-stuffed pastry puffs. Popular menu items like chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo and butter chicken tend to be skillfully made and delicious. The restaurant also has a small and intriguing menu of Indian-Chinese fusion dishes, including a chili paneer dish that works surprisingly well.
