A 6-year-old Phoenix boy was molested last week after his meth-using mom left him alone in a house with other drug users.
Police arrested Dale Brian Simmons, 50, of Phoenix, on Friday , the day after the boy reported to his mother that the man had assaulted him. He's been charged by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office with felony sexual conduct with a minor.
On Monday, police also arrested the boy's mother, Misty Lynn Echavarria, (a.k.a. Misty Lynn Timmons) on suspicion of child abuse after learning more details about what happened.

Echavarria, who lives in the 5600 block of West Roma Avenue in Phoenix, reportedly told police that at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, she was at a home in the 4100 block of North 55th Street, smoking meth on a bed with her boy "awake" next to her. Four guys were also in the small bedroom smoking meth with her, court records state.
She told cops "she then left her son on the bed and in the care of one of the males ... and went to fix a computer... When she went back to the house to retrieve her son, her son told her that the male she left him with sexually assaulted him."
"It is my understanding she went to run an errand," says Sergeant Tommy Thompson, Phoenix police spokesman. "The boy was sleeping, when he woke and was molested by one of the guys she had been doing drugs with."
Meth seems to have helped ruin quite a few lives in this one...
