The state of Arizona managed to snag about 40 million Obama bucks to improve Internet access across the state as part of the federal stimulus package.
GovNET Inc., a Scottsdale-based company, has the task of improving broadband access across the state with an emphasis on improving government services.
Governor Jan Brewer says the money will go toward fixing cracks in the series of tubes that is the Internet will create jobs, improve Internet access in rural areas, and help solve ongoing border issues.

While spending $39 million to improve Arizona's Internet accessibility in places where not too many people live isn't as wasteful as droppin' government money on feeding cocaine to monkeys, it seems like a lot of cash to blow on something that isn't entirely necessary -- or, dare we say, could be paid for by a private company (gasp).
