40: Toffee Banofi Sundae from Sweet Republic
Let's face it, sooner or later we all scream for ice cream. Thankfully, Sweet Republic, the artisan ice cream haven in Scottsdale, hasn't let the oodles of media attention stop them from serving us up their cool, small batch treats.
And when it comes to picking a favorite, we agree with Alton Brown, host of Good Eats and Iron Chef America who says, "There's a lot of great ice cream in the United States, but I have to say the toffee banofi sundae at Sweet Republic is my favorite ice cream concoction."
Inspired by the traditional English dessert, banoffee pie, Sweet Republic's toffee banofi sundae features two scoops of Madagascar vanilla ice cream, slices of ripe banana, hand-stirred caramel sauce, fresh whipped cream, another light drizzle of caramel, and a sprinkling of almond toffee.
What makes it so good? How 'bout a homemade base for the vanilla ice cream (no cuttin' corners, here) which complements the fresh spears of banana, sweet caramel sauce, and house-made bits of almond toffee with a salty, sweet, slightly burned taste that add a yummy crunch.
Mm, when can we stop by again?
