A little more than a year ago, Dos Diablos took over the space that used to be Mancuso's at the Summit, but it turns out that upscale Mexican food wasn't the right fit for that North Scottsdale location, and there was some chef turnover. According to the restaurant's website, it closed on Christmas Day "to make room for a new restaurant that will soon be opening in this space. Stay tuned for Dos Diablos reopening at a new location in the future!"
The new spot is called Truffles Grand American Grill, and it opened last Tuesday.
Chef Martin Colman's upscale American menu features everything from seared foie gras and Osetra caviar to burgers and Makers Mark bourbon baby back ribs. Entrees include seafood dishes such as grilled garlic shrimp, and champagne-glazed scallops wrapped with prosciutto, as well as Prime New York steak, filet mignon, and rib eye.
Truffles, at 32527 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale, is open from 4 to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday. Call 480-488-9488 for reservations.
