NovemBEER Festival Saturday, November 22
Did you get your tickets yet? If not, don't worry. There's still time because we know you want to be there this Saturday for New Times' first NovemBEER Festival. The brew-centric fest will go down at the Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature beers and ciders from dozens of local and national breweries. Look forward to 12 Arizona brewhouses including Four Peaks Brewing Co., Grand Canyon Brewing Co., Mother Road Brewing Co., and SunUp Brewing Co. Tickets to the event cost $35 for general admission and include 30 two ounce samples of beer. VIP tickets are also available for $55. Brunch on the Beach Saturday, November 22
While the top half of the country enjoys a frigid arctic freeze, we can take advantage of Arizona's unlimited amounts of sunshine at Sandbar's Brunch on the Beach. Both the North Phoenix and Chandler locations of the beach-themed bar and restaurant offer brunch specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday with menu items such as breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, and chilaquiles (crispy corn tortillas topped with two eggs, tomatoes, cotija cheese, avocado, sour cream and ranch-style salsa) -- best of all, you can get $15 Bloody Mary's and mimosas with one cent refills to wash it all down. On Sundays servers at each location will also be calling their own "option play," or specific food and drink specials at each location.
RedThai Sunday, November 23
Chef Johnny Chu's Sunnyslope restaurant RedThai Southeast Asian Kitchen is getting into the season of giving with a charity event this Sunday to benefit the Sunshine Angels. The non-profit organization "exists to support and enrich the lives of foster children in the care of Sunshine Residential and Group Homes, in Maricopa County." From noon to 9 p.m. RedThai will donate 50 percent of all proceeds to the organization. There will also be boxes at the front of the restaurant for customers who want to donate a tax-detectible gift.
