Number 63: Rib Eye Philly at SanTan Brewing Company

Cold microbrews are the main reason to hit up SanTan, but the topnotch pub grub is an excuse to stick around and drink more.

I'll take a rib eye Philly sandwich, please.

This interpretation of a traditional Philly cheesesteak barely resembles the original version; there's no hoagie roll (though you can order it on one), and although it contains cheese, it's not blanketed in it.

Instead, the melted cheese competes with a sort of beefy gravy that makes the rib eye seem even more tender, and it's all mixed in with tender onions and peppers. Keeping it contained is a thick, soft, chewy slab of beer bread -- basically a scrumptious form of flatbread.

This, and a Hop Shock IPA, is a guaranteed good time.
