Gourmet burger places continue to crop up like mushrooms across the Valley.
The latest on my radar is called Lush Burger, scheduled to open by the end of April in at DC Ranch Crossing in North Scottsdale. (That's the same plaza where Calistro Bistro and AJ's are located.)
Co-owner Josh Berk, who's opening the place with three others -- Suzi Hilton, and Shane and Sheri Sender -- tells me he hired Zinc Bistro chef Matt Carter to create the menu at this fast-casual lunch and dinner spot.
Among the choices will be a natural beef burger made with Harris Ranch beef, a Snake River Farms Kobe burger, ahi and turkey burgers, a veggie inside-out quinoa burger with caramelized onions and arugula, and a grilled chicken sandwich, all served on buns from a local bakery.
Three kinds of fries will include regular, sweet potato, and parmesan-truffle, along with beer-battered onion rings, four salads, milkshakes, beer, and wine.
The modern decor will feature a "lush" color palate, and there will be a 2,400-square-foot patio for hanging out and enjoying the sunshine.
Let's hope they have misters . . .
