Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

It's Finally Here
Happy early Christmas to us! Just in case you haven't heard, the much anticipated downtown Pita Jungle officially opened it's doors yesterday. Now those us of that live, work and play downtown can finally get our fix of roasted red pepper hummus, falafel, shawarma and all of our other favorites. Pita Jungle's 11th  location has made it's home on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt in the restored Gold Spot shopping center which was originally built in 1925. Bonus---it has a patio!  Stop by 7 days a week 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.  for a healthy meal.

Turkey Taco Tuesday
Just in case you still have a boat load of left overs from Thanksgiving, we thought we would bring you one last recipe to get rid of the rest of that turkey. Beer Braised Turkey Tacos. Just skip the first couple steps and cooked up pre-shredded turkey with the rest of the ingredients. Wrap in fresh corn tortillas and top with fresh cilantro, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Super easy, super healthy, super yummy!

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
