While many restaurants are gearing up for the busy season this time of year, others are winding down. This fall, the Valley lost an Asian grocery store, a longstanding Gilbert fried chicken destination and a trendy downtown Phoenix bar. Here's a look at all of the food and drink establishments that have recently closed.

Throne Brewing & Pizza Kitchen
The drama continues for Throne Brewing. Following a year of closings - this is the owner's third closure in four months - and ongoing wage theft lawsuits, the downtown Phoenix location of Throne Brewing has shut its doors. This comes after a late September closure of the brewery's Peoria spot.

Anhelo
Chef Ivan Jacobo's fine dining restaurant Anhelo has closed in downtown Phoenix. But the concept isn't gone forever. Jacobo is working on moving Anhelo to Scottsdale and for the downtown space, he's opening Flour & Thyme. The new restaurant was originally planned to open in Tempe, but after that deal fell through, the chef decided to shuffle his concepts.

Teriyaki Madness
In November, the Denver-based fast-casual chain Teriyaki Madness abruptly closed all of its metro Phoenix locations. The chain, which sells chicken and steak bowls with rice, plus noodles and appetizers, had restaurants in Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Tolleson.

Disco Dragon, one of many downtown Phoenix concepts from Sam Olguin and Brenon Stuart, has shuttered. But the owners closed one door to open another. Their upscale restaurant Pretty Penny will move into the former Disco Dragon space this December and the duo have a new concept in the works as well. In the shuffle, Disco Dragon bit the dust. The purple and green neon-lit bar served creative cocktails and Asian-inspired bites.

Local chain Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles closed its Gilbert location, explaining on social media that their 10-year lease was up and they'd decided not to renew. The restaurant, which serves fried chicken and other Southern staples, remains open at its Phoenix and Scottsdale locations.

AZ International Marketplace
Mesa grocery store AZ International Marketplace has closed its massive location on Dobson and Broadway roads. The closure meant the businesses inside, including Fatboy Sandos and WokOn, have had to choose to move or close as well. The store served international ingredients, fresh produce and decor. The space is slated to become home to a different grocer and the indoor trampoline attraction Urban Air Adventure Park.
