More than two-dozen competitors squared off in a battle for a chance to taste victory during the first-ever bean burrito-eating contest on Saturday, August 1, at the Crescent Ballroom. At stake was a $250 cash prize and bragging rights for those who could consume the most burritos in five minutes. While everyone involved came with a huge appetite and the will to win, only two competitors walked away with first place (as well as a killer case of indigestion) – Joel Knight beat out all the bros in the men's category while Katey Wilkins triumphed in the women's category.
