Pro-Choice Activists Show Strength in Numbers at Arizona Capitol

Pro-choice activists rallied at the Arizona Capitol on Tuesday, May 21, joining fellow protesters across the country in decrying laws that ban abortion. More than 100 people gathered, sporting signs with clever sayings from "We need to talk about the elephant in the womb" to "Don't tread on my uterus." Protesters included women dressed as handmaidens, inspired by Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, about an alternate United States in which women's sole value is breeding. Here's a look at some of the people who turned out, along with their creative signs.
