Cardone's closest friends gathered on stage late in the evening to sing in tribute to him.

There were tears, laughter, and music. So much music.

Friends, family, and fans of Paul "PC" Cardone gathered on January 6 for a Celebration of Life concert at Yucca Tap Room in Tempe. The event was a resounding success. More than 700 people watched more than 20 acts perform in tribute to Cardone, a bassist who was a fixture of the Tempe music scene for decades.

On the bill were bands he was a member of, such as Satellite, Chocolate Fountain, Dry River Yacht Club, and The Cigarettes, and bands he was longtime friends with, including The Sugar Thieves, Banana Gun, Future Exes, Wyves, and Dead Hot Workshop.

During the memorial portion of the evening, which included video tributes and remarks by Cardone's family, Tempe City Councilmember Randy Keating delivered a proclamation declaring Cardone the honorary mayor of Tempe (a nickname he had had for years) and designating January 6 as Paul Cardone Day in the city of Tempe.

Here are some images from the event.
