Members of Bar Trek, the 14-person team inspired by the original Star Trek television series. They even had a cart that resembled the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Something a little nutty took place in downtown Phoenix on Saturday, February 11. Captain Kirk and his crew rolled through the streets with a shopping cart version of the U.S.S. Enterprise while pursued by cross-dressing Disney princesses, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Bob Barker, FBI agent Dale Cooper, and two different versions of Rick and Morty.

Was this the result of some sort of ultimate crossover come to life or a some drug-induced hallucination? Nope and nope. It was the latest edition of the Phoenix Idiotarod, the annual gonzo event that involves teams of costumed pranksters racing decorated shopping carts, each with its own theme, around downtown. Here’s a look at chaos, colorful costumes, and craziness of this year’s event.
