With Roosevelt Row's businesses and galleries leaving, a new arts district is a vital need. Grand Avenue is proving itself to be a worthy contender with hip galleries and unique places to eat. First on the agenda was caffeine and what better place than Tres Leches Cafe with their Mexican-inspired drinks. Right outside was Nomadic Ice Cream, who made the trek from El Mirage. This is every ice cream lover's dream! Right next door was a mysterious purple-lit gallery by the name of Onyx Art. Grand ArtHaus was the art party to be at with a live DJ and a plethora of graffiti artists. Longstanding {9} the Gallery had a superb pop art group show. Our last stop on Grand was at the Unexpected Art Gallery which hosted an Arizona Creative Professionals event. This photography and fashion event was an art show, meet up, and live photo shoot all in one. After Grand, we explored the outlying areas of Roosevelt Street — Found:RE Hotel, New City Studio, and Cobra Arcade Bar where Mykil Zep presented all-new collage works featuring New Wave musicians.
