Everybody knows that Dubya is a diehard country music fan, but even the good ol' boys would have wrinkled their noses if Trace Adkins had played "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" at the Republican National Convention in 2004. Unfortunately, that hick-hop song didn't surface until last year, so there was no chance of seeing Dick Cheney or Dubya twistin' and shakin' in their suits to lines like "Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong." But plenty of back-porch booties will be movin' at the CMT Tour, which Adkins is headlining in support of his latest album, Dangerous Man, a disc that already boasts a Top 40 country single ("Ladies Love Country Boys"). Georgia hunk Billy Currington ("Why, Why, Why") and newcomer Jason Aldean ("Amarillo Sky") round out the triple-header bill. Now, if they would just do a country/hip-hop medley for an encore, maybe we could get Dubya out of tap-the-war-budget mode and back into tap-the-keg mode.
