The Hours:
Happy hour at Sip is Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Perfect for: A beer and a snack when you need to get some work done.

The Interior: Sip has a lot going on with a bar, coffee bar, and drive-thru coffee operation all under one roof. Still, the spot strikes the right tone for anyone looking to crack open their laptop with a drink by their side — that is, if you're okay with a little bit of noise. The spot offers a bright patio with misters and a bright indoor space with high ceilings.

The Food: We were really impressed with Sip's happy hour food selection, which includes any "small bite" on the regular menu for $5. Small bites range from substantial fare such as pulled pork sliders and chicken quesadillas to lighter eats including hummus and a mushroom dish.

After last week's happy hour carb-fest, we tried to go a little lighter with Sip's Funky Mushrooms. The simple dish is comprised of sauteed portabella, crimini, and button mushrooms, mixed with balsamic vinegar and herbs. These mushrooms had a great earthy taste and were well-seasoned.

The artichoke dip, which comes with plenty of toasted pita bread, was definitely heavier than our giant bowl of mushrooms. Both the creamy dip and the pita came with a top layer of oil that was a little unappetizing, but once we dug into the bowl of dip, we couldn't stop reaching for more. The light artichoke flavor dominated the dish, and we liked the big chunks of artichoke.

The Drink: Sip offers all of its draft beer for $1 off regular price during happy hour. The drafts are well-chosen and rotate. On our visit, the spot was serving more than 15 beers including Left Hand Brewing Co.'s Nitro Milk Stout, Santan's MoonJuice IPA, and Dragoon Brewing Co.'s Santiago Vienna-style lager.

We went for Avery Brewing Co.'s Lilikoi Kepolo ($5), an airy witbier brewed with passionfruit in Colorado. The beer fortunately was not sweet like a cider, but had just had a hint of passionfruit and made a perfect choice for a breezy day.

Conclusion: Sip's happy hour is perfect for those who want a place enjoy a beer and a snack while getting some work done or cracking open that book you've been meaning to finish. We dug the atmosphere, drink, and food. Plus, the service was friendly and fast.

Don't Miss:  The beer — there's too much variety on draft to pass up.
Skip This: The porch during the summer. Misters or not, it's just too bright.
